Carla
Zehrt "Sew Fine"
Carla graduated from Ramona High School with the Class of 1970, but
her sister, Janet graduated in `71 and Carla is closely associated
with the Class of `71 and is frequently present at Class of `71
Functions.
After
graduating from Ramona, Carla moved to Monterey, CA at age 21 and by
age 22 she had taken over the operation of a tailoring shop located
on Cannery Row where she learned to sew leather goods. She
subsequently learned the craft of embroidery and specialized in
freehand embroidery of letterman jacket monograms. Her work gained a
great deal of local attention as a result of work she did for a
local radio station and the Monterey County Fair. Carla walked away
from her Cannery Row business and returned to Riverside to take care
of her elderly mother. Her mother recently passed away and Carla is
ready to show Riverside what she can do.
